How a solo UK marketing manager finally got her execution backlog under control

Client names are fictional. An anonymity clause applies to all engagements on request.

The Situation

Crestline Group, a B2B logistics consultancy, had a sharp, experienced marketing manager who knew exactly what the business needed. A consistent thought leadership programme. Better LinkedIn presence. A blog that actually ranked. Monthly email to a 4,000-strong prospect list. She had the strategy mapped out and the briefs written. What she didn't have was anyone to execute it. She'd tried two content freelancers in the past 18 months. One had gone quiet after three pieces, the other had needed so much briefing they'd actually added to her workload.

What We Did

We ran a structured onboarding over the first two weeks, working through Crestline's tone of voice, competitive positioning, audience personas, and the specific topics their clients cared about. We asked the questions the previous freelancers hadn't. By week three, we were producing without briefing prompts. The scope covered four long-form articles per month, weekly LinkedIn content for the managing director and two senior consultants, the monthly email newsletter, and full social scheduling and engagement management across LinkedIn and X. Everything went through one review round before publishing, not multiple rounds of edits. Within 60 days, the marketing manager had reclaimed roughly 12 hours per week. She redirected that time into building a partner marketing program she'd had on the shelf for a year.
  • Structured onboarding to capture Crestline's tone of voice, personas, and priority topics
  • 4 long-form articles per month plus weekly LinkedIn content
  • Monthly email newsletter and full social scheduling across LinkedIn and X
  • Capacity freed up for the in-house lead to build a partner marketing program

Results

Crestline's marketing manager got back 12 hours a week and the output quality went up, not down.

12 Hrs
reclaimed weekly by in-house lead
3.4x
LinkedIn engagement growth in 90 days
61%
increase in email open rate

The Outcome

Crestline's blog now ranks on the first page for six target search terms that previously returned no visibility. The managing director's LinkedIn following has grown from 800 to over 3,200 in six months. The marketing manager has since expanded scope to include paid LinkedIn. Something she'd been wanting to test for two years but had never had capacity to set up properly.

The briefing fatigue with previous agencies was exhausting. I felt like I was doing their job for them. With Adah, I brief them once and they just produce. The quality is consistently better than what I was getting from people I was managing closely. I finally feel like I have a team.
